 The world observed 'Pi Day' today to celebrate March 14 (3/14), which coincides with Mathematical constant Pi's value (3.14).


• Scotland will hold a second referendum on independence from the United Kingdom, the country's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced .


• Union Government has appointed Narendra Kumar as the new chairman of the Central Water Commission (CWC).


• Punjab has won the 71st Santosh Trophy football tournament by defeating Railways by 2-1 goals. 


• Odisha is going to host the Asian Athletics Championship to be held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on the first week of July.


• The Union government has launched Mission Fingerling to achieve Blue Revolution with the holistic development and management of fisheries in the country with total expenditure of about Rs. 52000 lakh .


• Shri Radha Mohan Singh laid the foundation stone of the Banana Research Centre at Gorole, Vaishali, Bihar .

• The Karnataka government today allocated ₹100 crore for setting up of Namma Canteens across the state to provide breakfast for ₹5 and lunch, dinner for ₹10 each. 


• The South African city of Durban has been stripped of its rights to host the 2022 Commonwealth Games after it failed to meet the eligibility criteria due to financial constraints. 


• ICC Chairman Shashank Manohar has resigned from his post with immediate effect.

• The Executive Committee (EC) of National Mission for Clean Ganga has given approval for 20 new projects worth nearly Rs 1,900 crore .


• The country’s largest lender, State Bank of India announced a One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme worth Rs 6,000 crore on March 14, 2017 for tractor and farm mechanization loans to improve the loan recovery.


•  India’s contribution to the United Nations has increased to Rs 244 crore from Rs 157 crore during the fiscal year 2016-16 said by Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj .


• Babul Supriyo has been named as Vice President of the 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup organising committee said by Praful Patel, president of All India Football Federation (AIFF) .
