The first edition of the league will be played from January 28 to February 14 at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi .

• The Chief Ministers' panel on Digital Payments today recommended levying a banking cash transaction tax on transactions of ₹50,000 and above.
The panel also recommended the abolition of merchant discount rate to make digital payments cheaper than cash.
The panel's other recommendations include tax incentives for micro ATMs, biometric sensors and tax refund for consumers using digital payment.
The panel was headed by : Chandrababu Naidu (Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh)

In a first, a military contingent of the United Arab Emirates participated in the parade.

° Indigenously built Light Combat Aircraft Tejas made its debut at the Republic Day parade and flew over the Rajpath crowd at a speed of 780 km/h.

• Bengaluru-based 'TeamIndus' is among the 5 international finalists for a $20-million award (approximately ₹136 crore) by Google Lunar XPRIZE.
• China is planning to build Beijing Light Source, the world's brightest light source facility in Beijing.
The project is expected to start in next year.
• Sumo wrestler Kisenosato became the first Japanese wrestler to be titled 'yokozuna', the sport's grand champion, in almost 18 years.
