Study the following information and answer the questions.
There are nine persons Prem, Vinoth, Harish, Ramesh, Satish, Atreya, Mohan, Gowtham and Yadav stay on a nine floors building, but not necessarily in the same order. Only one person stays on each floor. All of them clear either SBI PO or IBPS PO examination, Each of them presently working as a clerk in different banks i.e. Andra Bank, Bank of India, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Syndicate Bank, Punjab National Bank, UCO Bank, Vijaya Bank and IDBI Bank, but not necessarily in the same order. There are two floors between the persons who working in a Punjab National Bank cleared SBI PO exam and who working in Vijaya Bank cleared IBPS PO exam. Harish working in Canara Bank cleared SBI PO exam. Atreya does not working in IDBI Bank but he cleared SBI PO exam. Prem stays on even numbered floor below the even numbered floor on which Gowtham stays. The one who working in Syndicate Bank cleared IBPS PO exam stays on the fourth floor. Ramesh stays on the second floor and working in Indian Bank cleared IBPS PO exam. The one who working in Bank of India cleared IBPS PO exam stays on the topmost floor. Prem does not working in UCO Bank cleared IBPS PO exam. Atreya working in Punjab National Bank cleared SBI PO exam and stays on an odd-numbered floor. There is only one floor between the floors on which Atreya and Mohan stay. Satish stays immediate above the floor on which Yadav stay. Mohan does not stay on the ground floor. Vinoth stays immediate above the floor on which Gowtham stay. There are three floors between the floors on which Harish and Atreya stay. The one who working in Vijaya Bank cleared IBPS PO exam stays immediate above Mohan .Satish stays on the fourth floor. The one who working in IDBI Bank clearedSBI PO exam stays on the third floor.
Study the following carefully and answer the questions given below.
There are eight employees A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H of an organisation working in three departments X, Y and Z. Each of them likes a different colour, viz Black, Brown, Violet, Green, White, Orange, Yellow and Blue, but not necessarily in the same order. There are not more than three employees in any department.
E likes Brown and does not work in Z department. A does not work in Y department and does not like either Yellow or White. D works in Y department and likes neither Blue nor Yellow B works in X department with only F, who likes Black. H and C do not work in the same department as D. The one who likes Blue works in Y department. The one who likes Orange works in X department. Those who work in Y department like neither White nor Green. C does not like Yellow.
Study the following information carefully and answer the questions.
A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H are eight members of a family. They belong to three different generations. There are three married couples. All of them are sitting around a circular table, facing the centre but not necessarily in the same order.
· D and F are a married couple. D, the wife of F, sits second to the left of her husband.
· C and A are offspring of D. A is not an immediate neighbour of his mother.
· There is only one person sitting between C and his niece G, but that person is not G’s father.
· E, a bachelor, sits third to the right of his uncle A, but neither to the opposite nor to the immediate left of his father.
· G is not an immediate neighbour of her aunt B. No three females are sitting together.
· C and his sister-in-law are immediate neighbour.
Solution:
1). B) The series is +(13 x 1), + (13 × 2), + (13 x 4),+(13 x 8), +(13 x 16)
ie 7 +13 x 1 = 20, 20 + 13 x2= 46, 46 + 13 x 4 = 98, 98+ 13 × 8 =202, 202 + 13 x 16 = 410, …
2). A) The series is -(1)3,+ (2)3, -(3)3, +(4)3, – (5)3, +(6)3, …
ie 210 - (1)3 = 209, 209 +(2)3 = 217, 217 - (3)3 = 190, 190 + (4)3 = 254, 254 – (5)3 = 129, ….
3). E) The series is +(11 x 1), +(11 × 3), +(11 x 5), +(11 x 7), +(11 x 9), ...
ie 27 + 11 x 1 = 38, 38 + 11 x 3 = 71, 71 + 11 x 5 = 126, 126 + 11 x 7 = 203, 203 + 11 x 9 = 302, ….
4). D) The given series is -(9 × 9), -(9 x 8), -(9×7), -(9×6), -(9×5), ….
ie 435 – 9 × 9 = 354, 354 – 9 x 8 = 282, 282 - 9 x 7 = 219, 219 – 9 x 6= 165, 165 - 9 x 5 = 120, …..
5). B) The series is +(14)2, +(13)2, +(12)2, +(11)2, +(10)2, …
ie 4 + 142 = 200, 200 + 132 = 369, 369 + 122 = 513, 513 + 112 = 634, 634 + 102= 734, ….
6). D) The series is 11 x 1 + 12 = 12, 12 x 2 + 22 = 28, 28 x 3 + 32= 93, 93 x 4 + 42 = 388, 388 x 5 + 52 = 1965, ...
There should be 388 in place of 310.
7). A) (3 + 7) x 2 = 20, (20 + 9) x 3 = 87, (87 + 11) x 4 = 392, (392 + 13) x 5 = 2025, (2025 + 15) x 6 = 12240,
Therefore, there should be 12240 in place of 12246.
8). E) The series is 12 x 0.5 + 0.5 = 6.5, 6.5 x 1 + 1 = 7.5, 7.5 x 1.5 + 1.5 = 12.75, 12.75 x 2 + 2 = 27.5, 27.5 x 2.5 + 2.5 = 71.25, ...
Therefore, there should be 6.5 in place of 6.8.
9). B) The series is 5 x 8 - 7 = 33, 33 x 7 - 6 = 225, 225 x 6 - 5 = 1345, 1345 x 5 - 4 = 6721, 6721 x 4 - 3 = 26881,
Therefore, there should be 6721 in place of 6724.
10). C) The series is (15)2 = 225, (16)2 =256, (17)2 = 289, (18)2 = 324, (19)2 = 361, (20)2 = 400,
Therefore there should be 324 in place of 344.
