(a) 150 liter
(b) 960 liter
(c) 800 liter

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

SOLUTION

1. (a) 873620
Net Population Increase = 6.3-1.8 = 4.5%
Required Population = 800000*1.045*1.045 = 873620

Alternate :-
Net Population Increase = 6.3-1.8 = 4.5%
100----(after 1year)-->104.5 ---> (after 2 year)-->(109.2025)
Now, Unitary method:-
100 ------------becomes---> 109.2025
8,00,000 will become = 109.2025*800000/100 = 873620
More easy as calculation becomes easier :)

2. (c) 3700,6300
Let CP of first and second be x and y respectively.
ATQ:-
x+y = 10000…(i)
18x/100 – 10y/100 = 36
18x-10y = 3600…(ii)
Solving we get,
x= 3700 and y = 6300

3. (c) 16 days.
2M+5W = 4250/17 = 250/day
7M+8W = 6281/11 = 571/day
Solving, we get M= 45/day, and W = 32/day
Therefore, 6M+9W= 270+288 = 558/day.
In X days they earned 8928.
Therefore, 558*X = 8928
X= 8928/558 = 16 days.

4. (e) 3600 km
Let the speed be X km and actual Time taken = Y hrs.
Distance = XY km
ATQ:-
XY = (X+12)(Y-15).
== > 12Y-15X = 180 or 4Y-5X = 60.
Also, XY = (X-12)(Y+25)== > 25X-12Y = 300
Solving both we get,
X= 48 and Y = 75
Hence, Distance = XY = 48*75 = 3600

5. (c) Rs. 160
Let CP be X, Profit = 50%
SP = 1.5X
1.5X-80 = X
0.5X = 80 or X = 160

6. (e) None of these (2.33 km)
Perimeter = Distance Travelled
== > Distance travelled = Speedx Time = 7x20/60 = 2.33 km

7. (e) 2880
5consonant + 4 vowel = > 5!*4! = 120*24 = 2880

8. (c) 36000
Share of Profit = Amt invested * time
A= 14000x4+ 16000x20 = 376000
B= 12000x2+ 10000x18 = 204000
C= 20000x18 = 360000
Ratio of share = 376:204:360
C’s Share = 94000x360/940 = 36000.

9. (c) 12 years
Let Haritika and harshit age be x and y respectively
xy= 240
2x-4 =y
X(2x-4) = 240
2x^2- 4x-240 = 0
Solving we get x= 12,-20
Hence, Haritika’s age = 12 years.

10. (c) 800 liter
Efficiencies of A , B and C are given
Together they have efficiency = A+B-C= 42+56-48 = 50 liter/hr
Time = 16 hrs
Capacity = 16x50 = 800 liter
